A Culture That Kills Its Children Has No Future.
I realized this after Sandy Hook.
Violence begets injury begets death, and any culture debased to vacillating between violent struggle and idle nihilism is shuddering toward its end as a culture of death.
When one side is obsessed with policing words and the other with dispensing violence and subjugation, I can tell you what’s going to happen — and it’s not good.

Good for them.
I’ve now stopped reading Ian Welsh altogether since he has become nothing but a Russian propagandist, and their propaganda has become predictable.
This was well before the pandemic, but thinking about the time we went into a KFC…and they had run out of chicken. Like, shouldn’t that be the thing you make sure you always have? That’s your whole deal. You gotta have chicken when it’s right there in your name.
Despite my best efforts, I can never create a bicep peak.😑

This is mostly genetic. I don’t even think this looks good so who really cares anyway?
we need to teach men that it's okay to be vulnerable, specifically so they can just say they have a needle phobia instead of developing elaborate lore on why they shouldn't have to have a shot, for uhhh moral reasons

Probably 60%+ of male anti-vaxxers are just afraid to admit they are scared of needles. Totally serious about this.
I love how you can tell she’s nervous (she’s not a professional singer), but still nails it. Not a song I’d ever want to perform live.
There are zero reasons you need to carry a rifle into the supermarket. I will never ever understand why so many Americans think this gun culture is normal or acceptable https://t.co/9nwpiOFemA

Unless you are fighting the Russians in Ukraine, there’s zero reason you need to fucking carry a gun anywhere. Too many people in the US are mentally ill.

Bought a ten-pound bag of flour recently. Thinking of buying another. Y’all should be prepping. Told you before the pandemic and I’m telling you now.

It makes me marvel at how f’in crazy the people in the post below this one seem, especially as it becomes clear that much of Long Covid is mostly pandemic and isolation-based trauma.
If youโre attending a conference or convention in the midst of this COVID spike you should expect to come home with the virus and plan ahead of time for that eventuality. Consider also all the people youโll expose in your travels home from the event. https://t.co/DQVwUy78aK

These people are fucking nuts.
I don’t trust anyone who cares greatly about Long Covid but hasn’t done just as much in the past (and now) to resist obesity and its causes.
Itโs wild that weโve invented a technology where you can trigger people into a blind rage by typing things like, โAmerica is pretty great,โ or โhard work is important for success,โ or โspace travel is awesome & we should do more of it,โ or โmen & women are different.โ

It really is. It’s because when you say those things, people makes all sorts of baseless and out of context assumptions about who you are and what you believe. If you say, “Biology exists,” people assume you want to exterminate all trans people and are anti-feminist. If you say, “Maybe people should be able to date who they want,” people assume that you approve of rampant sexual harassment and lowering the age of consent to 12. Etc.
We’ve built rickety identities around catchphrases and signifiers that actually signify very little most of the time. It’s a terrible way to get anything done or to achieve any goals. But that’s kind of the point of it, really, right? Easier to make money when you can ramp up the rage and hatred. At least for the next quarter or so.
Not only that these algorithmically-generated sites take over, but also sites with articles written by people saw them succeeding and pivoted wholesale to this style and voice, so now they a) all sound the same b) are nonsense and thereโs no coherent written content anymore https://t.co/YtTg2N8as7

We exist to please the algorithm — the way many PMC libs want it.
Inflation may be a lot lower than anyone thinks โ even the Fed.
LOL. Bullshit. It’s higher than reported.
