I think this is true for a lot of anti-car people — perhaps the majority of them. Independence is anathema to them. This same crew already wants to take away your AC, and next will be coming for indoor plumbing and refrigerators (yes, I am serious).

Makes sense. I’m far less likely to touch a woman in public, even if she’s in distress. The consequences for being mistaken are just too socially dire.

I really am curious if the roles were reversed, how would women handle constant and unrelenting rejection that most men experience, especially when they’re young?

Women — contrary to what many of them think — aren’t used to preemptory rejection, or being ridiculed for even trying romantically, and simply don’t realize how dating as a man is simply fucking horrible and utterly dreadful all of the time.

By the same token, I’m curious how men would handle the greater risk of sexual assault and sexual violence? I suspect better than women would handle the above as it’s so very soul-draining. (But I don’t know for sure.)
