I never caught a std from escorting, and ofc was regularly tested throughout. Banging responsible people through condoms seems actually pretty safe!

That even with condoms, sex was some super-dangerous highly-risky thing was promoted by the evangelicals and the abstinence-only organizations to attempt to get Americans (and others) to move to their preferred sexual norms. The reality is that even without condoms STDs are fairly rare* (note that I am not saying you shouldn’t wear a condom) and with a condom you’d have to participate in thousands of sexual encounters to have even a ~10% risk of getting an STD.

It was all an evangelical con job — and it worked.
