iPadOS 16’s Stage Manager is not the future of multitasking you were hoping for.

This moronic shit is why the iPad is not bigger. They try to give us toy computers — and take away everything for “security” — but it turns out that isn’t actually very useful to anyone.

When you’re doing more than watching YouTube videos and drooling, more is required. It’s shocking I know. Ok, it’s not. I’ve been saying it for a decade as computers got worse and and more user-hostile. How in the ever-living fuck do people not realize these companies are lying to them when they claim that reduced functionality has anything at all to do with security? How can you be that big a dumbass?

Using a browser now feels like using one did in 1996. They’re extremely insecure because you can’t change much, balky, hard to make do what you want, and prone to odd behavior that you can do nothing to alter.

Been messing around with “modern” browsers because Waterfox Classic works less and less well. And they are appallingly bad. Can’t change or adjust anything. It’s just a complete shitshow of lack of functionality and capability. Children’s toys.

Anything who believes this has a single damn thing to do with security is a fool. It’s for security from you. Nothing else. I remember when computers and browsers used to actually function and I really miss that.

To comment a bit more on the below, it’s a very good thing for the world that no one has allowed chumps and putzes like Chomsky to unilaterally surrender on behalf of Ukraine.

If Russia is not beaten back there, the Baltics are up next for the invasion and genocide treatment. And then — very probably — Poland. Do these clowns think that will really make the world a better place? It’s interesting that Chomsky and his myrmidons and the authoritarian Trumpists both agree that Ukraine should be overrun by Russia and the Ukrainian people extinguished.

That even with condoms, sex was some super-dangerous highly-risky thing was promoted by the evangelicals and the abstinence-only organizations to attempt to get Americans (and others) to move to their preferred sexual norms. The reality is that even without condoms STDs are fairly rare* (note that I am not saying you shouldn’t wear a condom) and with a condom you’d have to participate in thousands of sexual encounters to have even a ~10% risk of getting an STD.

It was all an evangelical con job — and it worked.

*This post is not about contraception, just STDs. Do your own research and thinking.
