Reason I’ve Read

Something I figured out very early: if you know the basic textbook material about a subject with a passing familiarity, you know more than 99.99% of people about that subject. And if you can read and understand post-grad textbooks in that area, you know more than 50% of even experts in that field. It’s unfortunate but it’s true. Most experts are fairly mediocre.

That’s the reason I’ve read hundreds of textbooks. I wanted to avoid the dipshit version of doing my own research and instead actually do it for real. And I spent a large part of my life working on that. Paid off, too.

Payola

I tried to pay the amount I owe the IRS after they finally got around to processing my tax return and got the ol’ “We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later.”

Not making it easy for me, are you? I am gonna pay it in Mikecoin now. It’s worth infinite Mikebucks. (I know this makes no sense, but neither does crypto coin BS.) It’s the hot new currency.

Pressing It

President Biden presided over the best midterm elections for the party in the White House in 20 years โ€” despite Washington insiders predicting that Democrats would be wiped out.

It wasn’t “Washington insiders.” It was the press claiming this. Anyone who believes press narratives — ever — is delusional. They get it wrong nearly 100% of the time. And no, the election wasn’t “stolen.” Dobbs made young women and young people in general vote in extremely high numbers and that tanked the Republicans. That along with Republicans killing themselves off in certain areas with anti-vax craziness led to defeat. Simple as that. No Dobbs and it certainly would’ve been the red wave the press “predicted.”

It’s great to observe clowns shoot themselves in their stupid clown feet. Both the press and the Repubs achieved that extremely well in this election.
