The fuck-up wasn’t allowing Elon Musk to buy Twitter. No, the real fuck-up was allowing a company to control the flow of and dispensation of so much information and people being ok with that.

The reason I do not have a Twitter account is because I already didn’t want anything of mine in the hands of vulture capital firms and shady Saudi groups. All of you should’ve been concerned with that before 2010 rolled around when I first looked at Twitter and decided it was a big nope.

Twitter is and always has been a terrible company; it’s a company that should’ve been a protocol. And if it’s such a vital communications tool that hundreds of millions rely on, it should’ve been government-run. As usual, as they are prompted to, people get fed the propaganda and swallow it down without even attempting to think about it.

Most people want to be misled — and they nearly always get what they want.
