I Canโ€™t Imagine Using Windows Without the Everything App.

Great program. It also can spool up a web server and you can point the search indexer at your entire network and use a web page from any computer/OS or device to search all your files. That what we do. Works great.

Everything shows how truly broken Windows search is by how much better it functions than the inbuilt tooling. People tell me that Windows (and other OS) search can’t work correctly “because it’s just sooooooo HARD.” Everything proves, though, that search being nonfunctional is a choice, not a fact of the universe. “Everything” is developed by one dude and it works 1000x better than what comes out of the box with Windows and other OSes.

Security Screamers

Introducing passkeys in Chrome.

This is very, very bad; this is the first attempt at having completely closed platforms, where you must use an “authorized device” (controlled of course by Google, Microsoft, Apple) to log into anything. Or to even do anything at all.

This is to kill any unauthorized way to be on the internet — which, these days, is to be at all. This is merely a necessary portion of the American/Western version of the Chinese social credit system. And of course, the security screamers are going to love it as they tell us we just don’t care about security if we don’t want our own lives and identities locked away from us while we are being constantly surveilled.

You motherfuckers are dumb, any of you who buy the “Firefox must take everything away because ‘security'” and “we are mandating HTTPS everywhere because we care about you and want to keep you safe” hogwash. Those efforts were all leading to this and worse points beyond. I know a lot of Boomers believe corporations love you but you younger folks who read this certainly should not buy into that absurd way of seeing the world — but so many of you do for unfathomable reasons.

Google does not love you. Nor Apple, nor Microsoft. This is not for your own good and it will only harm you. And too many of you seem just fine with that.
