Cycle

Same. We need less clown-oriented stuff, more power to do things. “Bicycle for the mind” should still be the aspiration despite all the naysayers and dipshits.

Volvo

Yep, totally wrong. Humans have evolved a whole fucking lot in the last 500 generations. I know the standard liberal (and conservative!) line is that humans don’t evolve because that might imply group differences somewhere but the fact is human evolution has been shockingly swift because of all the challenges faced by our species over the past ~10,000 years.

Again, ideology causes you to believe just total clown shit.

Ventus

Really contrary to Amanda Marcotte’s frankly moronic view on prostitution and why men visit sex workers; this is from a woman on Reddit who works as a prostitute:

10-20% of time it’s sex, most of the time, it’s the client venting/crying to me about his life and how hard things are.

Amanda’s idea that it’s “all about power” runs counter to the facts if she’d bother to listen to any sex worker ever.

I’m not an emotional person in general, but a lot of women in relationships claim they want a man to open up to them, and to be vulnerable, but if you actually do that she doesn’t find you desirable anymore. It’s incredibly common. Nearly every man has had that experience before with a woman they are close to disdaining them after they open up a bit.

So that’s exactly why sex workers have less sex than you’d expect, and more of what the woman from Reddit experiences.

Spun Down

I failed.

As someone says in the comments, standard quick formatting a drive (especially on a spinning rust hard drive) doesn’t delete any data. It just says “this drive is now empty” but doesn’t do more than that.

I’ve recovered files for friends from formatted drives, without a single file being lost. It’s not even hard. Formatting a drive does nothing substantive. It’s like if you wrote on the outside of a full file cabinet “this cabinet is empty.”

Tasked

That’s not a pop science myth; that is in fact the mainstream scientific view. It’s very, very wrong though as is completely obvious to anyone who is not some weirdo spreadsheet jockey.

Bandwider

You remember the days (not that long ago!) when absolute clowns were arguing that “250GB is enough for anybody!” in regards to download caps. Well, average household amount used in 2022 was more than 513GB:

I was right; they were wrong. As usual. The problem I’ve found throughout my life is that by arguing with dipshits you feel smarter than you in fact are. Thus, it should mostly be avoided. It just wastes time and drags you down to their level. It’s worth debating with other smart people but they are few and far between. Meanwhile, most people can’t see the obvious and will only also beclown you in the process of getting their 10th or 20th degree from Clown College.

Weird Ice

No, but you would be dead.

Grilled cheese sandwiches have a lot of water in them (about 25-30% of volume), which is not very compressible. So to get 10 grilled cheese sandwiches down to the size of a small cube you’d have to compress them at extremely high pressure where they’d start turning into exotic, high-temperature forms of ice. Most probably to get those 10 down to the size of a small cube, they’d have to be turned into degenerate matter which requires millions of atmospheres of pressure.

So if someone hands you 10 grilled cheeses in the form of a small cube, don’t eat it! ๐Ÿ˜‰
