Powah

PMC libs are utterly confused and don’t have a clue what this person is talking about. But he’s right.

Clown Rage

Same here. It’s enraging. We had near-unlimited resources and did complete clown shit with it. Meanwhile, we had a whole fucking flotilla of PMC libs telling us that assuredly nothing else was possible.

We could have built out a modern power grid, had renewables everywhere, lots of nuclear, been on the way to fusion power and revamped all of our housing. What we ended up with was fucking crypto coin, NFTs, WeWork and Juicero. Awesome.

Winners

Ha! Ian Welsh tells me Russia is winning. Anyone else who is not smoking fucking planet-sized crack rocks realizes that the Russian military was destroyed with our pocket change.

The war will go on for a long time. But short of nuclear weapon usage, Russia will be in permanent retreat.

Looks So Pettable

One of the reasons I like Kat is that she’s not a prude.

But I’d rather pet the kitty than the booty tbh. (I mean, it’s a nice ass. But…kitty!)

Maskers

For a lot of people masks were the equivalent of 1,000 feet of lead shielding: unassailable, unquestionable, better than all vaccines, better than any other alternative. This was fine with the powerful because the other alternatives would’ve required concessions, changes, and money spent.

It sucks when something becomes an identity marker. Really makes your brain turn into mush.

Perpet

Correct. This harms the fewest people for the least time while reaping the largest benefits for the many. We live in a society, as much as the neo-Thatcherites hate admitting it. Perpetual lockdown (or some equivalent) was never the answer.

New New

My partner thinks my method of taking mandatory online training classes is amusing: I leave the videos playing in a browser window somewhere, pay no attention at all, then take the exam at the end and get 94% correct.

I like having a big brain sometimes. Wish I didn’t have to do this BS to renew a cert, though.

Achieving

The Covidians who wanted to prevent anyone from having any fun for basically forever on some religious crusade…dang, we dodged a close one there.

They were nearer than I would’ve liked to achieving dominance.

The Flate

The inflation numbers as the average person experiences them are essentially fake. They measure inflation as someone well off experiences it, not as someone whose primary expenses are rent, food, gas and various unexpected emergencies.

The official inflation claims of less than 10% in the past year are bogus to the point of absurdity. For most people it’s been closer to 25%-50% in the US — and similar in other countries. (Yes, I understand how inflation is officially calculated. No, I do not care; it is a bad measure for most.)
