One myth that a lot of liberals believe is that if the United States had locked down hard at the beginning of covid, we could have gotten rid of it. This is patently false for a very large number of reasons, and there's probably no harm in believing it.

I disagree. There is indeed harm in believing it. It’s nearly always bad to believe something wrong. It leaves you with an incorrect model of the world thus causing poor decisions and influencing others to the same.

Also, it led to the Covidian narrative that we sinned and now pay a larger price to expiate that sin. It’s best to model the world as accurately as possible given human limitations.
