Broadly agreed. In open combat, the Chinese Navy could not win against the US Navy. But it’d be blood-soaked and would nearly destroy both forces. I said the same thing a year or two ago to a friend and my conclusion has not changed.

I used to have one of those, from 1983 or so to about 1986. This history is wrong. Amber monitors were available for a much longer time than 1987 to 1990. I was there and lived it. Here’s proof, from a 1983 issue of Compute!.
