Restoration

I screwed the pooch… deleted exchange 2013 database.

Years ago, someone I worked for did this. I recovered everything. The advice in the comments on how to do so is good, mostly, but the most important thing is: Communicate with your users! Let them know their mail is not going to be available, give them a projected timeline and keep them updated on the progress! It helps to avert the constant, work-interrupting, “Can you let me know when this is going to be fixed?”

Because if you don’t do the above, you will get that every three minutes and it will take you 10x as long to recover.

In the end, in my case, I recovered nearly everything. I think 10-15 emails got lost, which is great considering that company received something like 500,000 per day.

But I was up for almost 36 hours straight gettin’ it done.

Could It Be…Kraft?

Someone really needs to conduct a deep investigation into who is funding the Fat Acceptance movement. No one will, though, because of advertising and that it’s easier to believe comforting lies while your feet rot off.

But still, I wish it would be done.

Exbreast Yourself

Are guys genetically hardwired to look at womenโ€™s breasts, no matter who they belong to?

Probably not? I’m atypical I know, but I don’t care about breasts at all really and have no compulsion to stare at them. If a woman were talking to me topless, I’d barely notice.

One time in Charlotte, NC, a woman was walking down the sidewalk topless. I was driving with my (at the time) girlfriend in the car. My gf had to point out to me that the reason people were slowing down was that the woman had no top on at all as I did not notice.

So…yeah. That should tell you something.

Shaper

A lot of the left really, really hates electric vehicles. But passenger cars aren’t going anywhere and EVs are better than the alternative. Sometimes, pragmatism must take precedence over perfectionism. A hard lesson to learn but one the left needs to one day, if it ever wants to win consistently.

Quo Quo

On March 17, 2020, Nature Medicine published a Correspondence entitled โ€œThe proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2โ€ (1). The paper assessed the genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2 and concluded, โ€œOur analyses clearly show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virusโ€ and โ€œwe do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is plausible.โ€

That paper was a complete fabrication and should be retracted. It was crap even if it is definitively proven one day that Covid was completely natural in origin.

This is another example of why people do not trust science or scientists. Many will lie to you very obviously for what they perceive to be the greater good.
