I’m Leaving

Self-checkout is annoying for this very reason:

I only do this kinda crap when I’m alone as I don’t like to drag anyone else into my clownery, but one time at a self-checkout some cheese wouldn’t scan and no one was available to help. I waited for five minutes and then gave up, paid for the other items.

Then I walked out the door while half-shouting, “I’m leaving! If anyone wants to stop me, now’s the time!” No one did and I got free cheese for wasting my motherfucking time. No one said or did shit. And I’d do it again. If anyone wants to lay a shoplifting charge on me for $5 of cheese, bring it. I have lots and lots of money for all the lawyers and I’m spiteful.

Lie Up

I miss the period from roughly 1988-2003 when you could treat grown-ass women like adults and not like little kids.

Can we go back to that? Why do so many women even want to be treated like children? I just do not get it. I know, I know, they want all the advantages of both, but it won’t work out like that — no matter what lies “feminists” are telling them.

Defwom

The mental health crisis among men is the only one where the solution always seems to be โ€œmen need to change,โ€ whereas the solution to every other groups mental health crisis is โ€œeveryone else needs to change around them.โ€ Why is this?

That’s because in the West currently, men are seen as defective women. This works about as well as you’d expect — which is not well at all. Men have their issues but none of them are that we are not in fact women.

Part of this (referring to the original question) is an overreaction. For a very long time men did really have pretty tight control of society and women very little at all. That has changed, and in many ways women control the cultural conversation and direction now. Thus, the push to make men be more like women rather than for equality.

It’s better than how it used to be, to be fair, but still not ideal especially for men who just can’t fit this mold.

Few and Far Between

Can’t believe I found this. I watched this when it aired on TV in 1993.

I usually don’t care much for horns but those horn players are really killing it and add a lot to the song live. And that drummer…he’s playing ’em like he stole ’em.

I had this on VHS long ago, and now long lost.
