Why Does Romance Now Feel Like Work?

I have not read either of these books, but a lot of what the complaints of women boil down to these days is that they are finally being treated substantially (but not completely) like men in the dating market. And it turns out that in fact despite what they claim to want that, no, they do not like this. Because who would? Dating for men is absolute hell. Also, there is a whole lot of “Feminism for thee, but not for me” going on as well.

As with men, combine entitlement, absurd expectations and the desire for dominance rather than equality and you get nothing pretty.

Maybe one day I’ll read either or both of these books. But one thing I can commiserate with women on (despite their near infinite choice compared to men) is that yes, dating sucks and I’m glad to not be doing that.

I was wrong about defense spending. We need to be spending a lot more than we are. A lot, lot more. A war with China is coming and we just do not have enough ships and materiel, particularly in the Pacific Fleet.

We should be building subs, destroyers, missiles and support ships like crazy mad now. Our defense budget should be double — both to combat China and for Ukraine. Keeping Russia from invading the Baltics and Poland will be imperative as well.

Can adults have Lucky Charms?

You’re an adult. You can do whatever the fuck you want. This has to be a Gen Zer here, afraid of the light. As I was talking with my partner the other day I observed, accurately, that younger millennials and Gen Z have become the socially inept, isolated computer nerds we used to be but no longer are. But it’s happened to a whole generation-and-a-half of people. Seriously, the interpersonal skills of Gen Z folks are fucking terrible as they have retreated into phones and social media and can barely talk to anyone and cannot handle confrontation at all.

But as to being an adult, Baby Queen said it best.
