My guess is autopilot shenanigans. Someone might’ve activated a trim control accidentally, disengaging the autopilot. I believe the 787 has an audible alarm for autopilot disengage but maybe the pilots missed it.
Anyway, if you don’t have a neutral yoke position and you disengage autopilot while you’re flying in the coffin corner, bad things are gonna happen fast. And they did.

The Fourth Kind is a movie that to this day still leaves me incredibly unsettled.
Such a great film that was at the time poorly-reviewed for some reason and is still criminally underrated. I rave about this movie all the time. I do not understand why it got destroyed by reviewers when it was released. I think it might have been because instead of some straightforward alien abduction story, you got something very metatextual, with layers of symbolism and just an unrelenting sense of dread. And tragedies that aren’t historical period pieces never seem to get good notices.
The “actual footage” is also just so incredibly well-conceived and -executed. And the part where the psychiatrist protag sets up a tape recorder to capture what’s going on as she’s sleeping and then hears herself screaming hysterically but recalls none of it when she wakes up…Jesus fuck, that is one of my favorite scenes in any movie. Absolute nightmare fuel.
Milla Jovovich is also excellent in this. What a treat this film was the first time I watched it, especially since I knew nearly nothing about it going in.

Why Can’t People Be Normal About Sydney Sweeney?
Because feminists and the now nearly-overlapping Fat Acceptance movement hate Sydney since she’s relatively normal-looking (middle of normal-range BMI, etc.) person who simply looks like a woman from 30-40 years ago (though glammed up most of the time). I personally do not give a fuck what her politics are, about her boobs, or what she looks like. I care about that she makes me feel something when I watch the movies and shows she’s in. And that she does. These people on both sides are all fucking idiots and I hate them all.

I love this song so much. Baby Queen is the best. This song as it does for many people reminds me of leaving behind everyone and everything I’d known to embark on a new life in the army, knowing that I’d never see many of those people again and that no matter what happened, I’d never see them the same way again.
