Weโ€™re Old, Retiredโ€”and Apparently Invisible.

This has occurred in large part because America is the most age-segregated society in the Western world by far. Gen Zers as well as younger Millennials are convinced if there is more than a one year age gap, then those people have absolutely nothing in common and in fact are not even the same species. It’s the strangest thing.

It wasn’t always this way! When I was in my late teens and early 20s, I had friends my own age but also friends as old as early 70s. That was not unusual back then. Now it’d be unheard of and to Gen Z, it’d be creepy and “sus.”

This is what happens when you make every human relationship about power rather than care and affection. Socially, Gen Z is totally screwed. It’s not entirely their fault but it’s still not fun to observe.

I wonder if the increase in cancer in young people is connected to the recent prevalence of tattoos? If I were a betting man, I’d wager so; I assign that a pretty high probability. Tattoo ink is fairly invasive physiologically and creates persistent irritation/inflammation. And irritation is a known cause of cancer.

My guess is tattoo ink acts as a substance that enhances tumorigenicity when applied after a carcinogen. So, it’s multi-causal but that’s pretty common in today’s world; we’re exposed to various carcinogens all the time.

Unfree

Ghosted after 3 interviews and 3 assignments.

There was never a real chance at a job here. This is just a company scamming for free work. They are probably doing this to multiple “candidates” at the same time. Has become increasingly common.

I’ll take a short test or do something tiny to show I know what’s up. I will not do any assignments. Not gonna redesign someone’s whole network or environment for free. If I do, I’ll make it look plausible but it’ll be a trainwreck if they attempt to implement.

Do not fucking work for free.

Why Microsoft? Why? – New Outlook.

Like most new software, the new Outlook is terrible. Outlook was never great but it served its purpose. Now it’s a turd wrapped in lamprey slime topped with decomposing rat carcasses.

It’s not fit for purpose, but it is shit for purpose. Even the paid “you just hate change” shills aren’t popping up to stan for this utter abomination. They know they would not be convincing as it is such a deficient product. Microsoft just does not care any longer and as long as that sweet, sweet SaaS revenue is flowing in, I guess they don’t have to.

Culture Move

The Republican party has become a full-fledged anti-sex movement.

True, but the real issue is that the right and the left in the US are both anti-sex now, they just manifest this tendency in somewhat different ways. The right’s variant is worse and more authoritarian, because of course it is. But the left is also quite anti-sex with a side of anti-men now, and that assists the right in achieving their goals as there is so little pushback from the left these days on these topics.

The prudes are winning, in other words. Both sides of the aisle are guilty, though not equally so.

I really do think most companies and even individual people could use a service that I could easily provide: I won’t tell you what smart thing to do, but I will tell you how to avoid doing the stupidest thing possible. Since many companies default to the most absurdly self-destructive decisions imaginable and so do many people, this is not hard. That’ll be my cheap tier, say $1,000 per month for an hour or two of work.

Now if you want me to actually tell you the smart thing to do, that’s way, way more. Like $100,000 a month for companies for a few hours work and $2,000 for individuals. Because doing the smart thing — now, that’s fairly hard. But avoiding the absolute most braindead crap? That’s easy. For me, anyway.
