I still miss the competence and intelligence of an intern I worked with over six years ago now. Oh my god she was so sharp and learned things so very quickly. I do sometimes sit around thinking (unfairly, tbh), “If M were here, she’d just have this done right the first time.”

In some ways, it’s bad to be spoiled by a 1 in 10,000 as the other 9,999 you get aren’t going to be that.
