Right On

Having worked for a FAANG, I can tell you they are incredibly poorly-organized and most of their people are self-impressed and strivers, but not very good. The people I worked with at a much smaller non-prestigious hosting company were far smarter, and had deeper knowledge.

It’s so odd that being attracted to someone — and men having any sexuality at all — is viewed so disdainfully. It definitely does not lead to a good life, or a viable society.

Ring Watts

What scene or scenes haunt you years or decades after watching the movie?

This scene in the American version of The Ring.

There’s just something about a situation going unexpectedly and wildly out of control despite your best intentions that gets to me. Also, Rachel did nothing to deserve the curse that’s attached to her, but cannot do anything to help herself. I think deep in my subconscious that reminds me of growing up in North Florida where I often felt the same way.

There are other scenes in the film that are creepier, but that’s the scene that haunted me.

So that immigration is necessary economically appears to be an outright lie. But if you like a lot of crime, rape, and assault, feel free to import a ton of feral third worlders.

Shue In

I wouldn’t say “ashamed” but yes, in that era, Elisabeth was considered not heavy but a little chubby.

Shows you how much standards have changed as now women who are clearly obese are called “skinny” by many and sometimes “emaciated.” Anyway, in the film which this still is from Elisabeth Shue — as she typically did then — played the grounded, moral character and a typical American normie girl who was not overly obsessed with her looks and just wanted to have some fun. So that’s why she was just a little chubby (for that time).

She was good in the part, though the film is not that great.

Anyway, now liking any woman under 50 is considered “creepy” by the idiot left, so there’s that.
