Sometimes someone will say: "I explicitly do not support X. I do support some things related to X", and then the response is "That guy's an X supporter!"

Yes. Fuck, this is annoying. I’ve been called a “Trump supporter” a “Clinton die-hard” a “Bernie bro” and a “hard-core Republican” and a “far-left commie” pretty near in time to each other, because I support some policies that each of those candidates or ideologies espoused. Sometimes, hilariously, by the same people.
Most people just do not do any nuance at all. They are on a team, dammit, and if you don’t cheer in the same cadence with the same enthusiasm, then you must secretly love the other side.
