Official numbers are that 50,000 Americans have died of Covid-19. Itโs probably closer to 80,000, but letโs say that itโs 50,000.
To put that in perspective, thatโd be every single resident of the county where I grew up when I left in 1994 โ and about 3,000 more. In the context of the US, itโs not much. In the context of humanity on a more comprehensible scale, itโs a whole lot.
