What this about the stimulus means: they’re coming for every restaurant, bar, bookstore, theater, small shop, boutique, salon, café, concert hall, art space, and neighborhood gym you have ever loved.

People are interpreting this as simple incompetence, but it’s not. Sure, it might’ve been at first. But now it’s a plan. Not in the conspiracy theory sense, but a bunch of plutocrats have aligned and decided to do what’s in their own interest. And what is in their interest is to allow the economy to melt down enough so that any organization they do not control or cannot profit from, or that might oppose them, is eradicated from the face of the country.

All to be replaced, of course, with their already-existing oligopolies or preferred vehicle of profit. That’s what you’re seeing now, and it’ll go on for a long while yet.
