A close friend of mine who is an intelligent young woman has been suggesting I should go ahead and buy myself one of those new mid-engine Corvettes as she knew I was interested in them. She frames it as enjoying oneโs life while one can (with the not-so-subtle subtext that I am as old as the hills and might kick off soon, so better do it now).
As someone who supports feminism I ask you, dear readers, what kind of feminist ally would I be if I were to deny the wishes, the dreams, of a discerning and bright woman such as she is? It would be a moral tragedy, most assuredly. It should not be done.
Therefore, ethically speaking, the only correct answer is to purchase a mid-engine Corvette. It is indeed the feminist thing to do.
