"Electric cars are still cars" is a meaningless and dumb thing to say.
Are we against "cars" or are we against the harms from too many cars, used too much? (Air pollution, traffic deaths, negative impacts to cities?)

When something becomes a religous movement, there are hallowed objects and unholy ones. Cars are now profane and unholy and must be cast out. People are just prone to religious thinking, I think. Part of the human condition.
