i get so mad when ppl criticize my surveys as not having a random enough sample, wtf do you think most actual academic studies are based on

True. Many if not most academic studies are of college students between the age of 18 and 25, because they are what’s readily available. Aella’s are probably more “random” along several dimensions than this, though self-selection bias is a legitimate problem of course. But that’s also true of the studies I just mentioned….
