Directing

Thing I learned as a manager this week: when you have two confused people and ask them to talk to one another to resolve their confusion, it can result in them both bewildering each other even more than they were before, which then takes two full days to straighten out.

What I should have done: held a meeting where I listened in and gently corrected as they discussed so they didnโ€™t just misinform and muddle one another even more.

I thought because each had about half the necessary information, they could assist one another. I was wrong. Wonโ€™t make that mistake again.
