As with many movies from the 1980s, Big could not be made today. It’d be considered too offensive by the wokesters and be canned even if it came up for development. During the 1980s, the zeitgeist was emphasizing our similarities and all about trying to bring people together.
That’s now transitioned to highlighting our differences, and making sure we dis-align along those axes. I have to say that what we were attempting during the 1980s was far better.
