I can’t tell you how tiresome and terrible it is that everyone treats you like a predator pretty much all the time if you’re male. If this were racial discrimination it would not be tolerated or permitted. But against men? Sure, it’s all good. And I understand the reasons why, even. But that does not make it feel any better. Know how draining it is to realize that 99% of women only perceive you as an attacker, not as a friend, a comrade, or just someone to have a laugh with?

Yes, yes, women have it worse in some ways but at least they aren’t treated 24/7 as someone always on the verge of assaulting or harming anyone in the vicinity. Because men are treated that way and it’s psychologically very costly. And to women who say men “deserve it” because some men are in fact creepy and terrible: that logic doesn’t make any damn sense.

I know men aren’t allowed to complain about this but I’m going to anyway, because it’s dehumanizing and a terrible way to be treated. And it’s all the time.
