a discovery I had recently, that was baffling at first, but actually explains a lot:

most of the women my age that I know sincerely believe that it's as hard, and usually harder, for them to get dates, than it is for men to get dates.

this perception really surprised me!

Ha. I know! I have run into this too. It’s BS of course.

I think some of this comes from that most women only consider the top 10% of men for dates, whereas most men will consider 80% of women. So women believe they lack for potential dates as they automatically discard 9 out of 10 guys without even considering them.
