When To Step In

Iโ€™m having this trouble with leading my team: when to allow junior people to flail and struggle and when to step into help them. Problem is, I donโ€™t have a lot of time to do training and spend hours on calls with people pointing them in the right direction. At the same time, I donโ€™t want anyone to spend days or longer frustrated with no assistance.

Not bragging, but most often I can solve problems in five minutes that they spend hours or days working on (though it takes much, much longer to lead them through this). But if I donโ€™t let them struggle a bit, they never have a chance of going from โ€œjuniorโ€ to โ€œsenior.โ€ I feel like I havenโ€™t struck the right balance there yet and am still working on it.
