Often. Perhaps most often. I think that’s because pretty actors have trouble letting themselves go, letting the “pretty” mask slip (true of men and women).

There are some that aren’t afraid of being and looking ridiculous, though: Margaret Qualley and Anya Taylor Joy are two examples. Brad Pitt is a good male example, too, especially in the last 10 years or so.
