I keep getting comments asking how NASA could possibly 'forget' the process for going to the moon and I dunno how did we 'forget' how to light a movie? https://t.co/fQbF74uuFn

Part is loss of skill. Part is most things are shot on digital now, which has a worse contrast ratio than film. And itโs less forgiving in low light in other ways. The new movie, Halloween Ends, was shot on Arri Alexa Mini digital cameras.
However, the original 1978 Halloween was filmed with Panavision Panaflex cameras and Panavision C-Series anamorphic lenses, but I wasnโt able to find the film stock used other than it was shot on 35mm. Those Panavisions, though, are probably the best movie cameras ever made despite the advantages of digital.
