The inflation numbers as the average person experiences them are essentially fake. They measure inflation as someone well off experiences it, not as someone whose primary expenses are rent, food, gas and various unexpected emergencies.
The official inflation claims of less than 10% in the past year are bogus to the point of absurdity. For most people itโs been closer to 25%-50% in the US โ and similar in other countries. (Yes, I understand how inflation is officially calculated. No, I do not care; it is a bad measure for most.)
