Ventus

Really contrary to Amanda Marcotteโ€™s frankly moronic view on prostitution and why men visit sex workers; this is from a woman on Reddit who works as a prostitute:

10-20% of time itโ€™s sex, most of the time, itโ€™s the client venting/crying to me about his life and how hard things are.

Amandaโ€™s idea that itโ€™s โ€œall about powerโ€ runs counter to the facts if sheโ€™d bother to listen to any sex worker ever.

Iโ€™m not an emotional person in general, but a lot of women in relationships claim they want a man to open up to them, and to be vulnerable, but if you actually do that she doesnโ€™t find you desirable anymore. Itโ€™s incredibly common. Nearly every man has had that experience before with a woman they are close to disdaining them after they open up a bit.

So thatโ€™s exactly why sex workers have less sex than youโ€™d expect, and more of what the woman from Reddit experiences.
