Years ago I had to walk an employee through manually removing all the MSI installer components database and traces of the Cisco VPN client from the registry. Over the phone. It was 4+ hours of telling them to go places. Their networking was busted and they lived in the forest.

I have done this very thing. It’s terrible. The Cisco VPN client is a mess.
