More about this stupid Virginia Sole-Smith book and human behavior.
People want to be lied to. They deeply, deeply desire it. Especially if itโs about something that takes a bit of work to achieve.
The lie: No one can control their weight and being obese is perfectly healthy.
The truth: One can control oneโs weight and being fit and thin is a vastly better experience than the opposite.
The difference between the two is that the latter takes diligence and effort and cannot be achieved overnight while the former means you can โintuivitvely eatโ all the cake and ice cream you want any time you want, and that you can feed your kids absolute fucking slop so they get type II diabetes at age 14. Then you can absolve yourself of all guilt for this.
Which do you think most people will choose? Of course itโll be the lie. This is exactly why that fucking stupid book will be a huge bestseller. The lie is just so much easier.
