Yโ€™all goofs who think everything is on Spotify.

One of the best songs ever written on a great album is not there at all. When she was in her prime, Deb Talan was far and away the best living songwriter in the world, no contest.

โ€œShe had poems and a planโ€ and โ€œWhere thereโ€™s room to be easyโ€ and โ€œI need my place at your tableโ€ and โ€œSo familiar, this place; I cannot breatheโ€ and โ€œHow strange to feel not a strangerโ€ and just the whole damn thing is chock full of brilliant little nuggets like that. A lot of songs I think, I couldโ€™ve written that if Iโ€™d cared enough and devoted the time. Even songs I like! Many of Debโ€™s songs, though, I think, Jesus fuck, I never couldโ€™ve written that in a million years.

And ainโ€™t even a bit of that on Spotify.
