Regardless of what I think of Ellen Pao’s gender discrimination case, she is probably going to destroy Reddit, not save it.
It’s being sanitized for advertisers, not as some form of moral good as the worst of the SJWers imagine.
Why do people believe capitalists like Pao do anything for moral gain?
Answer: they don’t.
Of course. Do you really think though that people get something for free indefinitely and not pay for it somehow? It’s a truism that if you get something and you’re not paying for it, you’re the product. I’m not going to hand out reams and reams of information about myself that I generate myself if I’m afraid I’m 5 seconds away from being doxxed or horrible real world consequences for such disclosures from other users on the same site. I’m on a sub on which people routinely use throwaways and it’s the most benign subreddit you can imagine.
