Oh, thatโs great. Love it. Because itโs not just the users who say, โThe entire network is downโ when in fact itโs almost never the network. Screaming this also are other sysadmins, management, etc., when an incident occurs.
Hint: Itโs almost never the network. In my experience, itโs a network issue about 5% of the time. The rest of the time itโs either not a real incident, itโs related to some hardware failure, itโs just user error, or someone has pushed bad code.
But people always, always blame the network first and then you have to waste valuable time proving itโs not.
