Not So Good

Renee Good was the kind of person I should be.

What? Fuck no. Despite the fact that I donโ€™t think the ICE agent should have shot her (I mean, no one is โ€œin fear of their lifeโ€ while holding a fucking cell phone in one hand and a gun in the other), she was an idiot completely and totally out of her depth who thought she could and would operate with impunity.

And she got shot for her misperceptions. Itโ€™s not what she deserved, but life and its end is what it is, not what we wish it were.

I believe she was killed because she was a good person. Because she decided to be there.

She was a flaming idiot who put herself and her wife in a situation (with a dog in the vehicle) that she was totally unprepared for and unequipped to handle. What she did was worse than nothing. It made the entire left look like a bunch of delusional mega-clowns (which, alas, mostly they are) while only strengthening right-wing narratives.

I do not give a single fuck if she was a good person or not. That kind of virtue signaling is meaningless to me. I mostly care that she did something so colossally and avoidably stupid that it worsens the entire case against random ICE raids (which, mostly, I donโ€™t think should be happening, to be clear).

The left always wants to judge the other side by what they do, not their intent. So here goes: Renee Good was a full-on clown and though she didnโ€™t deserve to die, she did many stupid and completely-avoidable things leading to that outcome.
