Why do women date men that either are constantly in jail/prison or have no job?

My mom dated these type of men because she was deliberately looking for people dumber than her with few prospects that she could control.

And no, I am not guessing. She told me this herself, multiple times. It was a point of pride for her.

What she most regretted (being the sociopath she was) about marrying my dad was that he was not controllable and she had no leverage with him. All the other relationships after that, she made sure she did.

So the conventional wisdom that, “Awww, poor wittle women don’t do things like that” is wrong. My mother certainly did and I am quite sure she’s not the only one.
