I knew it was probably over for a while as a civilization when people I’d previously believed to be perfectly reasonable began to tell me how smartphones were “more convenient” and that they spent most of their days gazing into that abyss.

Willingly.

We’ve never had to deal with a cognitohazard like this new hell that is the combination of smartphones and social media. It’s the most transformative event to occur to humans since widespread literacy, but far less constructive. We’ve created addicts who can’t even recognize they have a problem, and who attempt to gaslight you into believing you’re the malcontent if you object.

We aren’t going to conquer the fucking galaxy like this.
