I worked with an intern who didn’t know what a CD was. She did know what a vinyl record was, though, as they’ve made an unfortunate return. She did have a vague notion that CDs were the “little silver records.”
Amusing
Herd Movement
That is the easiest way to get banned from anywhere — go against the herd. I find myself running away from the stampede often enough so I know how that works. It’s how I got banned from Reddit the first time. I disagreed with the wrong people and they kicked me out. And the closer to being right you are, the more likely you are to be shitcanned.
Nuking
For the first time, ChatGPT made me laugh. I don’t usually talk with it (rather, I tell it to give me something), and I’ve disabled most of its suggestions and conversationalness. But I started it in this case. And it gave me a response that made me actually laugh out loud. I’m in green above. Below that is ChatGPT.
“The ‘nuke the doghouse’ era is over.”
That’s good stuff.
Stumbler
I customize my machine, browser and computing environment so much I can barely use anyone else’s computer.
When I sit down to use other people’s compies they must wonder if I’m actually an IT expert as I stumble around aimlessly, unable to find anything. Then I usually resort to the command line and/or PowerShell.
Sunday non-Funday
Not nearly as fun a Sunday as it sounds. Alas.
Boxy Boom
I was just thinking of the time my friend, who speaks five languages and is learning a sixth, forgot the English word for “speakers” due to being exhausted and called them “sound boxes.”
That makes me smile.
Clown College
The only thing I know about most people is they be clownin’.
Chloro
What is the biggest misinformation you remember being taught in school?
That fungi are a type of plant.
I disputed this and noted that fungi were an entirely different kingdom of life, but was told to be quiet and learn it the way it was taught. Of course, I did not.
WMT
It’s funny to see people positioning Walmart as some ethical, better alternative to Amazon. That’s some serious crack smoking going on there. Same with Target. Not one of those companies is better than any other. It’s just which has the superior propaganda operation at the moment.
And I got no dog in this fight; I patronize them all.
Doco
I found a video of some of the people I’ve assisted while doing IT over the years.
It’s extremely accurate. A documentary, if you will.
Headed
My head is so fucking big that most commercial headphones don’t fit or just barely fit.
This noggin is doin’ a lot of work always, but I wish it weren’t quite so gargantuan.
MPDG
I think a fun โhorrorโ movie would be Amelie but sheโs disgusting and evil instead of just pleasantly mischievous pic.twitter.com/PZnGoohuwW

I too would enjoy a Maniac Pixie Dream Ghoul film.
Don’t Contact Me
I love it when there is an error that says, “Contact your system administrator.” Bro, that’s me. I just contacted myself and without an actual error message this whole thing is freakin’ worthless.
It’s even worse when it’s an application you wrote and it says that.
Bullydom
To a lot of the left, “bullying” is telling them truths they don’t want to hear. I’ve been accused of bullying by leftist clowns because I’ve said things like:
- You don’t have to be a fat useless slob. That you can change your life and it’s up to you to do so.
- That not everyone is exactly identical.
- That IQ exists, or at least measures something that exists in the context of our civilization.
- That the Fat Acceptance movement is actively harmful.
You get this picture. Pathetic. If that’s bullying, then fuck yes I am a bully. Proud to be.
Mexi In Fact Can
Mexican food is fine.
Itโs never great.
Youโve never had great Mexican food.
Itโs just fine.

I know this is just low-value ragebait slop, but I have certainly had great Mexican food. A co-worker’s (Mexican) wife at a previous in-office job would send in food with him for the team and it was a-fucking-mazing. Some of the best food I’ve ever had.
She was such a great cook. I met her in person a few times and I could not shut up about how good her cooking was. She beamed the whole time.
