People incorrectly claim the degrowther movement has no political influence. In reality, though, degrowthers are everywhere. Most people in fact now are degrowth. We’ve collectively given up any vision of progress, of improvement, of collective organization to achieve societal benefits. It’s not the left or the right alone. Both sides are about making life worse in their own dipshitty ways.

If your energy use over time doesn’t look like China’s, you’re fucking up (and the US’s is about as depressing as the EU’s.):

Degrowthers are making everything worse. We should be building so much and burning up so much energy that the sun’s like, “Damn.” But no chance of that anytime soon as clowns are in charge of the circus.

Why in Zeus’s name would you make something so complex and difficult to deploy when you could just not do that?

You could just use a fixed bus for the solar panels with single-axis heliostats. In other words, put a โ€œcurtainโ€ of lightweight mirror strips (heliostats) in front of fixed solar panels. Don’t move the panels, move the mirrors. That way, the motion is minimal (only need a modest rotation range for 23.5ยฐ sun variation throughout the year) and don’t need to move a huge structure as the heliostats are extremely low-mass. This minimizes moving parts, doesn’t have whatever crazy shit is going on in that animation that will fail fast and catastrophically, and is not from a design loony bin.

Why are people so harsh towards guys who are looking for women to date?

In most matters, women always get the benefit of the doubt. Men almost never do.

Thus, man looking to date: Just wants sex. Probably wants to abuse women. Must not be able to meet women “naturally” (whatever the fuck that means these days). Most likely a rapist looking for victims. Pitiful.

However, woman looking to date: Aww, poor baby. She deserves the best. Why won’t anyone give her a chance, despite her glaring personality flaws and mental illness? She deserves a high-worth man over six feet tall, and in Hugh-Jackman-at-his-peak shape, even though she could defeat a whale shark by mass alone in single combat, doesn’t work, and is 4’11”.

The standards women are held to are vastly different than those men are held to. Anyone who denies that is smoking all the crack.
