Depression still on track, no matter what pauses or changes Trump is doing. Tariffs are still tanking the economy and the policy chaos and uncertainty is even worse than the tariffs themselves.
Not much has changed, except to get worse.

Ah, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Walmart throwdown. That hits the spot.
They have absolutely dreadful technique but in this case that only makes it better (as the fight lasts longer).
Am I crazy or was anti-vax originally far left-wing?
It was always a bit of both, but the far left-wing was dominant (maybe 60% of anti-vaxxers) up until 2015-ish or so. Then the right wing really started going batshit about then and now anti-vax clowns are about 70% MAGA dumbasses.
It’ll probably trade off again one day. Meanwhile, dozens of thousands will die easily-preventable deaths.
And yes, people will attempt to gaslight you, claiming it was “always” and only a right-wing thing to be anti-vax. History says different.
Brussels is watching amazed, as Trump destroys the US economy. "Nobody in the Commission thought that the US government would be this stupid and self-destructive," an EU official tells me. "That they would blow up their own country by letting ChatGPT make their trade policy." ๐งต

I’ve not seen such insanity since watching a grown-ass man steal his own kids’ clothes to pawn and buy crack in North Florida.
And yes, that is real. So is the entire country being destroyed before our eyes now.
The more I learn about Kubernetes, Docker, microservices and the like the more it’s clear that it was all designed by people who knew absolutely nothing about networking, the impact of latency, what true scalability would or should look like, usability, or already-existing technologies.
It’s all just clown-level stuff. No wonder it took over.
Absolutely surreal. The Trump administration is in the process of shutting down international shipping to the US. And from the US too! This is a proposal independent of the tariff policies.
This is our Lysenkoism moment. https://t.co/fJ8rVBCEVx

Things are about to get very, very bad like most of you cannot even imagine.
Get ready.
I Invented a Popular Kitchen Gadget. Tariffs Will Kill My Business.
And this will be happening a lot too; about 20% of the businesses in the US are unsustainable with current tariffs. If the tariff carnage continues this shuttering of previously-viable concerns will have vast follow-on effects. Depression, of course, but more than that. Somewhere between 40-60% of restaurants and service businesses will close. Entire neighborhoods will empty out as people cannot pay their mortgages any longer. Tent cities will sprout up across the land. Crime will rise and many areas will fall into chaos.
Every time massive tariffs have been enacted in the past, a depression has occurred. This time will be no different.
If you have favorite restaurants, visit them in the next few months. They probably will not be there in a year. And after that, you might not have any money anyway.
I just asked a user to log in using the password she chose less than 5 minutes ago. (She couldn’t remember it.)
Not that unusual for the average user. I’ve had many users over the years who would forget their passwords every 2-3 days.
Self-service password resets are a godsend.
A lot of people’s terrible behavior is related to them realizing one day as they were growing up that they were not in fact God’s specialest one and never getting over that trauma.
I have a big ego, but never fell prey to this as nearly everyone around me when I was young went out of their way to tell me how horrible and shitty I was. So I definitely never felt that I was God’s specialest anything.
Who knew that a movement who literally killed themselves to prove they didn't need modern vaccines would literally kill the economy to prove they didn't need modern standards of living

The stupidity, it burns.
Loser.
Any vehicle that I drive becomes a “real man’s” vehicle, even a pink convertible VW Golf. My scintillating aura spreads awesomeness over the entire vicinity.
It’s a thing.
I expect recession in 3-4 months, depression in 6-9 months.
All because of the current administration.
Price of laptops already up $300-400 per device.
Indeed. The same laptops I ordered for work in March for $2,000 each are now $2,600. That wasn’t even a month ago.
I expect they’ll go up more soon. Glad I bought all the stuff I did in my personal life when I did because I knew this was going to happen. Clowns often do the clownery they claim they will.
Hello fellow Gen-X-ers.
It is us they have murdered. Older boomers are probably too late for the cures this deep in the pipeline. Millennials and Gen-Z-ers might get lucky, might see the pipeline rebuilt in time for their cancers.
But the cures that might have saved us? Say bโbye!

We’ve allowed some of the most clueless morons in existence to destroy everything. In that sense, I guess we deserve what we get. We did it to ourselves.
Recession, Great Recession and depression chance are all 90% now. That’s as high as I go for any systemic prediction more than a month out.
All that remains to be seen now is how bad it’ll get and if the American economy survives in any recognizable form. Now is the time to be saving money, buying some extra food and other resources, and having backup plans in place if you can.
We’re on a runaway train that is gonna run out of track. All because dumbasses elected an actual idiot. Fun.
