This is incredibly common and incredibly racist. In the liberal world, you’re not allowed to say anything about this. But the truth is a lot of Indian people will only hire from their own country and even worse, their own caste.

It’s one of the many reasons I do not support the current H1B program and think it should be dissolved.

She’s the only person I’ve seen who actually admits they went insane during Covid. Most who did never recovered and if they did get better, never admitted they were once lost to nuthood  It’s so weird that the Covidians still fervently insist there were no lockdowns anywhere and that nothing was different because of Covid, while bleating about how terrible it all was a few seconds later.

I don’t know if therapy works (probably not), but they need some very badly.

That article below is one of the few that’s actually made me angry lately. It’s such a profound misunderstanding of the problem, what’s occurring, why it’s occurring, what effect it has and how it all has played out over time in the US. Why bother writing something like that if you’re so clueless? What’s the point? I think it’s just a bit of stotting to demonstrate how sophisticated the writer is.

In fact, I am quite certain of that.

Extremely wrong. Absurd to think this, to the extent this piece even has some sort of cogent point. And this set of beliefs is exactly why the liberals lose and will keep doing so.

This is the sophisticated eurotrash version of the, “Let the barking mad bindlestiff have some assault, as a treat. Listen to your music and don’t make eye contact as he sets you on fire and burns you alive.”

The last 2/3 of the article has nearly nothing to do with the first 1/3. I am not certain the point he’s trying to make, and he doesn’t ever address what Noah is actually talking about in his piece. “Europe is not America” seems to be the main focus of the linked article. Got it, buddy. And your thesis beyond that is what, exactly?

If this were a college essay it’d be tossed back for revision as it rambles on about inconsequential details while supporting vague claims with irrelevant non-evidence.

What happens in arrondisements in Paris has absolutely nothing to do with American mass transit or the American experience of crime and risk on said mass transit. The two are not comparable — not in the way this clown believes, and not in most ways that matter.

Big words and inapplicable statistics can conceal a lot of bad thinking.

We find that these firms experience abnormally high employee turnover following RTO mandates. The increase in turnover rates is more pronounced for female employees, more senior employees, and more skilled employees.

It’s no surprise that the best and more capable employees leave when RTO mandates occur. I would quit immediately if I were forced back into any office and will never work for a company that requires office attendance again. It is so insanely unproductive. And to be perfectly frank, compared to my peers I am somewhere between 3-20x as productive as the average employee in my career field. Lose me and you’re going to have a hire a lot more people1.

Good to see some research around this.

I’m also so glad my partner does not use social media. The last commenter is correct; social media has absolutely destroyed women and their mental health, far worse than men. Many of them are incredibly addicted to it, much more severely than any men accused of being addicted to porn or gambling or other such things.

If I were dating now I’d work very hard to find a woman who does not use social media, or uses it for less than an hour or two a week. Otherwise they are probably too far gone to save. Especially for women, social media reminds me of the Blight in A Fire Upon the Deep – a near-omniscient alien intelligence that effortlessly enslaves entire worlds and civilizations. It has been incredibly sad to see this occur.

(And yes, I recognize that Reddit is a form of social media — but it does not appear to be nearly as toxic and cognitively hazardous as those such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and the like.)
