Officiousness

This trend of employers inventing reasons to disqualify your experience is really obnoxious.

Try getting out of the army and then seeing how employers treat you. I had more than one tell me I had “no office experience” despite working in an office for five years straight, eight hours a day. And working in an army office is a hell of a lot harder than working in any corporate office I’ve ever seen.

Employers make every effort to discount your experience because then they can pay you less (in general and in specific).

Esca

It’s odd how it’s an “escalation” when Ukraine does something that Russia has long been doing to Ukraine, but it’s not an “escalation” when Russia invades a peaceful neighboring nation.

Now how does that work again? Reminds me of when I was bullied as a kid. If I fought back at all I was the problem, not the bullies who punched me, tripped me, stole my stuff or pushed me down and kicked my ass.

Yes, very familiar indeed.

Flat Wrong

I still think about the leftist contention that Ukraine would be unable to offer any resistance against Russia because it’s flat. I think about it, and I laugh. It’s like a great joke you just recall from time to time and chuckle.

How and why this idea gestated among these military “experts” I have no idea, but it’s kind of like saying that someone can’t wear a jacket because they’re lying down. It just makes no goddamn sense.

But that’s how they roll. So, par for the course.

Cider

This was the plan.

Tard-ass leftists: Ukraine should roll over and surrender! Russia thinks the Ukrainians are Russians and they merely want to enfold the Ukrainian people in a loving embrace. It’ll save lives!

Lord, how do you get so fucking stupid?

The Magic Virus

Covidians grant the virus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes Covid magical powers it simply cannot have. And this is because it is not a retrovirus. It cannot “hide.” It cannot “come back.”

You’re either infected or not. The infection clears or it does not. They also grant it other magical superpowers too, of course, like the ability to end civilization. That was supposed to have been gone already due to Long Covid, by the way.

Buncha crazy-ass loons.

We Are There

This is correct; we are already in WWIII’s beginning phases and we should act like it. There is a certain inevitability to these things. We are making it worse, not better, by not helping Ukraine enough. I don’t completely agree with Kyle but we’re on a path globally that leads to a world-devastating conflict, with very few realistic ways to avoid it.

Our goal now should be to make it the least bad and shortest war possible. Which we in the US are not doing at all, and neither is Europe.

Reconfirm

Trump didnโ€™t win just because of white voters. He didnโ€™t win because all the rich people voted for him, he won because the working class shifted toward him. Trump won because an incredibly diverse electorate voted for him.

Yep. Many liberals are now completely lying about this, but it’s true. I saw Heather Cox Richardson just today completely making up false data and using utterly-transparent fabrications to justify why the win was all the fault of straight white men. The reality, though, is that only a few small demographics shifted away from Trump. Every other American group went Trump-ward — including black men, Native Americans and most of all, Latinos.

The liberal deniers of this sound just as clown-ass as the election-denying MAGA types. And will be even less effective. And I say this as someone who believes that Trump 2 will bring about the most disastrous era this country has seen since the Civil War. It’s just that I prefer to deal with the world as it is — uncomfortable facts and all — rather than whip up some absolute nonsense to reinforce my worldview.

You don’t win that way. And you aren’t right, which is even more important to me personally to be completely honest.

Beast Mode

It’s weird how Ian Welsh and other clowns like to pretend that being beastly strong gives you no advantages at all. Like, I can do tons of things I just could not do before.

And not even all large-scale ones. For instance, I can type for much longer now without my fingers getting tired. And that’s just one of hundreds of noticeable changes.

The left is so weird about stuff like that.
