This is quite well done. Only a few inaccuracies, which is amazing for a science video over 10 minutes long. Usually these get half the claims wrong or are so wildly off base that they might as well be wrong. Also, I noticed that the graduate student who speaks several times during the video has that completely new accent that seems to be developing among Gen Z and younger. I wondered when that was going to happen! Pretty cool.

But they skipped out on talking about the really interesting parts of compressed matter: neutron stars and what happens to matter (and the star itself) when it starts transitioning to that state.

As opposed to movies, a lot of combat looks like this. Especially if you have good close air support. Notice how much laughing and joking there is, even while they are actively being shot at. I’ve been told that “doesn’t happen” when of course it is the default state. Don’t believe movies. They are mostly BS.

God the A-10 is such a great plane. This person said it best I think:

We should be making more of these and not retiring them; what a brilliant machine of death. My favorite military aircraft of all time. Not having an aircraft that can actually do CAS and stay on station a long time is going to bite us in the ass in the coming war with China.

By the way, the F-35 can only fly for two hours before refueling. The A-10 can fly for three. And the F-35 is as fragile as a Ming vase compared to an A-10.

There is nothing — absolutely nothing — that can do what the A-10 can do in combat. Not a drone. Not an F-35. Not an F-22. Read the comments of the troops being supported by A-10s here to see what I mean:

You can definitely tell how poorly-socialized and childlike a lot of Gen Z and younger Millennials are. That one of the women refers to herself as an “underage 21 year old” is really telling, I think. She does seem to have a mental age of about 9 or 10 so she’s not wrong.

Unfortunately, many women call anyone they are not attracted to “creepy.” I hope I do not have to explain why this is a very bad thing.

At least Courtney (creator of the above video) seems sane and normal.
