Only twice inflation, that’s all

Fuck, I hate Obamacare supporters.

Is that all, Kevin? A rate increase of only 5.4 percent? Only twice inflation?

And with no rise in incomes in the past or foreseeable future?

These fucknuggets are smoking some grade A hash, people.

And anyone in the comments who cites a real massive increase is either accused of lying or that their story is โ€œatypicalโ€ if they offer substantive proof.

I know the Democrats hitched their busted-ass wagons to the bunko that is the ACA, but ignoring all evidence, telling people suffering under the strictures of the ACA that they are โ€œlyingโ€ when they are struggling to pay premiums and attempting to convince ACA victims that itโ€™s a good thing โ€” well, it doesnโ€™t cast you in a very favorable light, really.

The ACA helped a few people. So what? So does every war and mass murder.

Doesnโ€™t make it a good thing.

  1. I don’t think it’s helped people who have to buy insurance on the open market, especially if they’re in a state that’s refused the Medicaid subsidies. My insurance went up 14.9% a year ago and believe it or not this is the cheapest insurance with the lowest deductible. It’s supposed to be hit by a bus insurance but actually reaching the deductible would wipe me out. :/ I can’t really afford it, and it doesn’t cover substantial medical expenses for me like needing to see or needing to have functional teeth. I haven’t had a proper checkup in years and the things which kill my family are silent until they reach end stage.

This group of people who have to buy insurance on the open market is just going to grow and grow.

    • Agreed, the real effect of the ACA will be to cause more companies to stop offering health insurance and force more people to use the “open” market.

This was easily predictable — and predicted — before the ACA.

Why it has such ardent defenders I haven’t a clue. Devotion to Obama, and to something that they imagined/hoped would actually be good.

But blind tribal devotion is present across every group.

      • The open market is a piece of crap. The only reason insurance is tied to jobs is because the government in World War II had wage caps and benefits were a way for large companies to attract workers when they couldn’t offer more pay. Unions were opposed to the idea.

Perhaps some of the ardent defenders actually benefited? Or they were in such dire straits before that something less bad is now good? Or maybe they’re afraid that if they criticize something halfway ok is going to be made worse?

“It could be much worse “is not a rallying cry.
