Ment

An intern Iโ€™ve been mentoring at work told me that Iโ€™m a better teacher than any she had at Duke.

Which charges $60,000 per year.

I need to go into a different business.

I have a mentee, but what I actually wanted was a manatee.

Ok, itโ€™s pretty cool to have a mentee really. But a manatee would be cool too.

  1. Mentors and Mentees for Manatees: Learn mermaid secrets while teaching young interns how to function professionally. Help preserve Florida’s delicate coastline while teaching wet-behind-the-ears college graduates the real meaning of business casual (hint: t-shirts with tuxedos are not “business casual.”) Classes are taught on a houseboat by an alligator and former Marine.

    • Now that you mention it, I have always wanted a houseboat.

Though I suspect the romantic appeal is greater than the contentment provided by the practical operation and maintenance of said houseboat. Still, the idea of running up and down the coast and exploring up rivers is an appealing one.

Perhaps I just need a fleet of interns to manage it.

And manatees as scouts. Yes, they are slow, but I’m not in a hurry. I’m in a houseboat. I’m already home!
