I got, for some unknown reason, an email from a recruiter about “Machine Operator and Production Worker” positions. There is nothing related to this in my resume or that I have ever done as a job or career anywhere.

Never mind that, though. What’s appalling is the pay.

$10 to $11 an hour? That’s what those same jobs paid when I was in high school 25 years ago. Just ridiculous. How can anyone live on that? The median rent in the area is $970. Just unconscionable that any company gets away with pay that low, for anyone, and that we allow it as a nation and a polity.
